Caring for the small altar linens
The Sacristy Laundry Ministry (also known as the Altar Linen Ministry) involves the reverent cleaning of the linens used during Mass, such as purificators, corporals, and lavabo towels. Volunteers pick up soiled linens from the parish, carefully wash and iron them at home, and return them for future liturgies. Caring for these linens requires strict adherence to liturgical norms to prevent any particles of the Precious Body or Blood from being washed into standard sewer systems.
