I am thrilled to be here at Nativity!
A Catholic educator since 1985, I’ve been blessed with 30+ wonderful years in the classroom as a high school history and religious studies educator. In 2000, after finishing my graduate work at the University of San Francisco’s Institute for Catholic Educational Leadership, I began working in university classrooms, teaching, and mentoring graduate student teachers at USF and the Catholic University of America. In short, most of my life has passed in a schoolhouse, which has taught me, pruned me, made me laugh and cry, and blessed me in unimaginable ways.
I’m super grateful for my semester here at Nativity, and very excited to build on the fine legacy that our present principal, Kathy Shadel, leaves behind upon her retirement. The teachers here are intelligent, generous, and welcoming, the students a joy to be with, and the Nativity community a gift to grow and learn in!
Coming from a big, crazy, and loving Catholic family in stunning California, I am feeling very at home in beautiful Colorado—the seasons, sky, mountains, slower pace of life, and kindness of the good folks in Broomfield have certainly won me over! Though I remain a die-hard Dodgers fan, my heart is definitely loving this new place I call “home.”
