My fiance(e) and I would like to get married.  Where do we start?

If you are seeking the sacrament of Matrimony, contact Merrilyn Sikora at the parish office (see right-hand sidebar for contact information).  She will get you started with marriage preparation and will connect you with a priest who will help you along the way.

What are the effects of the sacrament of Matrimony?

The sacrament of Matrimony establishes a perpetual and exclusive bond between the spouses. God himself seals the consent of the spouses. Therefore, a marriage which is ratified and consummated between baptized persons can never be dissolved. Furthermore, this sacrament bestows upon the spouses the grace necessary to attain holiness in their married life and to accept responsibility the gift of children and provide for their education.  (Question and answer from the Compendium of the Catechism, 346)

I think I am called to the priesthood.  What do I do?

If you are feeling called to the priesthood or would like to learn more about the sacrament of Holy Orders, contact Lynne Gallagher (see right-hand sidebar for contact information).  She will be able to set up an appointment with one of our priests, Fr. Michael, Fr. Accu, or Fr. Gabriele.

What is the sacrament of Holy Orders?

It is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his Apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time. (Question and answer from the Compendium of the Catechism, 322).

What is the effect of ordination to the priesthood?

The anointing of the Spirit seals the priest with an indelible, spiritual character that configures him to Christ the priest and enables him to act in the name of Christ the Head. As a co-worker of the order of bishops he is consecrated to preach the Gospel, to celebrate divine worship, especially the Eucharist from which his ministry draws is strength, and to be a shepherd of the faithful. (Question and answer from the Compendium, 328).
