From March 7-10, 2016, Nativity was blessed to have Father Richard Veras give a parish mission. Below, you can find out more about Father Veras and listen to his talks along the theme of God’s want to help us accept His love and closeness to us.

 


 

Father Richard Veras was ordained to the Priesthood for the Archdiocese of New York in 1996.  He served as the Parochial Vicar in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx and in St. Joseph – St. Thomas Church on Staten Island.  He was the Pastor of St. Rita’s Church on Staten Island.  He taught Religion at Archbishop Stepinac High School, White Plains, St. Joseph by the Sea High School, Staten Island and was on the faculty of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Poughkeepsie. Father Veras is the Chaplain for the Lay Ecclesial Movement: Communion and Liberation and currently serves as the Director of Pastoral Formation at Saint Joseph’s Seminary in New York. He is the author of two books: Jesus of Israel: Finding Christ in the Old Testament and Wisdom for Everyday Life From the Book of Revelation.  He is also a regular contributor to the monthly publication, Magnificat.
